I Had This Assignment That Was To Be Done: DEFAMILARIZATION

On this newspaper, I will try to demonstrate “bestrangment”. Although it may be strange, it will match together and make sense. To me, the main reason as to why we “defamiliarize” things is to explore our own imagination. It is to make the reader feel what the author thought through the book or the newspaper.  Defamiliarization is all related to creativity; in one story, there are probably millions of ways to look at it. This means that everything depends on you, from the way you pick words to the progress of how you think. In this essay, I will be doing what is called “black out poetry”. Defamiliarization may seem not at all related to “poetry”, but in reality, it is the complete opposite. They are both creative techniques making the audience feel things in a different and bizarre way.

Purpose of defamiliarization is the exploration of art and creativity. Artistic use of your language can give readers a new point of view, as well as perspective. `Defamiliarization` was to be first known and used by Victor Shklovsky. He meant this to the means of viewing objects differently. To people who read this, it is ever so beautiful with the intermingled structures of phrases, described the way it has never been done before. It is to make them astonished by doing something different of what the audience perceives.

To my own life, the term “defamiliarization” is relevant. As I got to learn about defamiliarization, I realized how important it was in my life. Not only did creativity come out of the box, but I learned a lot new ways of expressing things. Because defamiliarization links closely together with poetry, it helped me a lot through poetry sessions. It gave me more variety of options as how to write or say phrases, especially because I don’t have a religion because it blocks some desires across all different beliefs.

The Most Challenging Activity Of My Life

I think the most challenging thing I have done was skipping a grade in science. It wasn’t that science itself was especially hard; using English in science class was my main problem. At the time, I knew only the simplest phrases such as ‘thank you’ and I struggled with my science homework because I couldn’t understand the teacher.  Consequently, I tried to learn English as fast as possible through academies and skyping with my dad who, having worked in the United States for five years, was experienced in English.  It wasn’t easy, especially with all the exceptions to proscribed grammar rules and all of the scientific jargon, but I got the hang of it as I practiced and practiced, read books, and memorized vocabulary.  It was also a real challenge working with my science teacher because he had specific expectations about how we should do our work, which was very hard for me since it was rare that I understood what he was saying.  Ultimately, after a few months of practice and learning from my failures, I began to speak English better and understand my teacher more, while excelling in the course—all of which felt like a huge accomplishment.

Some Values Of My Life

Forgiveness- One must know how to forgive the other and that is considered as a value to me

I value forgiveness because it allows us as friends and families to be connected as one.

Responsibility- This is huge; one must be accountable for decisions and actions

Responsibility is a huge value because everyone must do their jobs in order get things organized around the house.

Trust- People should have the tendency to trust you

People should generally find trust very important because it does not become complicated communicating.

Generosity- People should be generous for one another to help develop the society

I have generosity as one of my values because it encourages one another.

Family- The main value of mine is my family because of how much support they give to me everyday

Family is obviously important because they support and very close to me.

Friends- Friends can be influential in good ways (and bad ways); they help me push myself forward

Friends usually help you push yourself further than you were going to.

Appreciation- One must know how to appreciate things for what others have done

People will feel brighter with appreciation which is why it’s an important value to me.

Kindness- This is important because it affects our society as we all must work together to develop

Being kind is gives people a lot of encouragement as well as help.

Respect- One must know how to respect the elders and know where they are (self-determination)

Respect is VERY important when it comes to my family because you must be able to recognize your rights and worth.

Honesty- Demonstrating truthfulness and sincerity is a huge value
Honesty is another good value because it keeps everyone connected to one another.

Thinking Of My Dreams: Scientist??

I think the most important quality in a scientist is imagination. In order for the act of invention to take place and for scientists to apply methods or ideas that lead to meaningful change, they must conceive of goals that, at first, may seem ostentatious. In this sense, I believe that imagination is the power that propels and advances the science and technology world. Of course, the objective of scientific research should be to improve our society and to apply our findings and knowledge to building a better world or creating new things that can benefit Nature and human life.  For me, being positioned to do so requires exploration of what is out there in the world and the courage to dream of how it can be changed.  In other words, I want to think outside of the box. Therefore, imagination—innovative thinking and creativity—is the most important quality of a scientist.
